MGB: Life is full of little surprises

Took the B out for a short ride to see if my adjustments had made any difference.

Found a little knob on the right of the dash. Didn't look like a standard switch... wonder what it's for. Pushed it, pulled it..nothing. Twisted it and the wipers worked on an intermittent wipe. Wow I thought, that's neat. Trouble is, it doesn't matter what I do to the switch, they won't stop.

It was also the first time I'd driven in the dark. Light weren't that bright but not bad. Stopped briefly and when I tried to start it, the starter wouldn't turn. My wife was out so I rang my father in law and he came with a rope. Started easily with a short pull and drove home no problem.

More investigation to do now. I've been spoilt with the reliability of the TA.

my trecel was in the shop and I had to drive my B in pouring rain and one on my windshield wipers just falls off, and I couldn't use them again that day b/c if I did
I ran the risk of scratching my windshield. yes life certainty has its little surprises....I also drive with a soft top so I was also getting very wet.

I will say I love midnight drives in her so much even though I have to drive with the brights on just to be close to normal
but when you get on the country roads with nothing but stars out with no traffic, those are the best drives. hands down.
I will stay up till 12am just so I can go on those drives because I know no one in their right mind will be out on the streets.

Nice one Jack . Even the Audi has let me down a couple of times in the six months I've owned it.

Chris, the TA is really reliable. I never worry about it not starting, not getting me where I want to go, and stopping when I get there. I've owned many cars that haven't been half as good.

Natalie. I love night driving with the top down, especially on a cool cloudless night. I agree, you can't beat it.

Me, I like warm summer nights, not too fast, along the bay roads.

...and long walks barefoot in the grass, lots of poetry, a little wine....

Driving is fun, too.

Two years ago this month I was on a final joyride of the season and it started to rain. I was about 15 miles from home and started back. Halfway home I realized that my entire right hand wiper was gone. I turned around and re-traced my earlier route eyeballing the shoulder the whole way. I finally found the wiper and wiper arm just as I was about to give up.

Nannie, I loved late night drives in my B with the top down when I lived in North Palm Beach, FL. I'd head up along the ocean road. Nothing like it, the moon over the ocean, etc. I miss that now.

I planned for it though I had a spare windshield wiper waiting for me at the shop unfortunately the shop
was 45 min give or take, away from me.
anyways I love night driving its really just a blast, and I agree to cool nights are great for it, and I would like to
night drive her by the ocean one day it'd be cool
