By the time mine is ready, I will have spend that much and have a few busted knuckles! But it's fun right?
That's right, it's FUN. Money is no object . . . until you run out of it. You can't really think about having an MG because you think you're making a good financial investment. It's an investment of FUN, and I think we get more fun back than we put into our cars.
From time to time I visit a guy who is restoring a Dodge Charger. He's determined to sell it for $35-40K. That's his goal. I haven't once heard him say anything about driving it, wind in the hair, etc. Strange way to run a hobby.
He does good work though.
He should take that Charger to the Barret Jackson auction next year. I guess the Baby Boomers are all lusting after the muscle cars of their youth, because the prices they're bringing are ridiculous. I'm glad the MG still appeals only to the relatively small group of eccentrics who want wind in their hair! :)
that car couls go for somewhat more than it is at now and still be a good deal.
