OK.. line up and applaud now... My TR7 has ran it's last trip. :(
Over the last few weeks, I was hearing a clicking on the right rear when I was changing gears and thought nothing of it, then it got a little worse. I thought it may have been my speaker box rubbing against the body, but I removed that and it was still there. Then... I could feel the rear kind of swaying a bit out on shifting. I got underneath and looked, but could see nothing wrong.
Sunday, friends were up for a visit and he was eager to take it out for a try, since he had never driven a fine automobile such as the TR7. Off we went, me in the passenger seat. Got to the main road, off we go.. and I realized something was really wrong. With me int he passenger seat, I could really feel the rear end shifting, so home we came. Upon investigation, the frame where the rear trailing arm attaches to is no more.. It has rotted away and was separating more each time it was driven. With someone in the passenger seat, it made it very noticeable.

I have taken a long hard look at what kind of a project that would be to repair it, but being a major support area and having to align everything up correctly, I think it is a goner. There are other areas that need attention too, so..... The LBC I learned on and brought me my love of British cars is going to be parted out.
Saddest thing is.. It was running the best it ever had since I put the new Rad. in, and the interior is still fantastic.
Oh well... A TR7 convertible will be in the future I hope. :)
Oh.. and who will be the last one to drive it?
Our very own MG Experience member... Mark Jones. :D
You might have saved my life though, Mark. Thanks
