http://v.blog.sohu.com/u/vw/3072067 Interesting musical accomplishment.
Read this first, then watch. Turn on sound.
This is almost unbelievable. See how all of the balls wind up in catcher cones.
This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa .. Amazingly, 97% of the machines ' components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Iowa...........Yes, farm equipment! It took the team a combined 13,029 hours (almost 2 yrs) of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can see it was WELL worth the effort.
It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian.

So, it's all computer generated? It's not real?
Yep, all animated and passed on to me and then to you with the not unusual BS authentication courtesy of our friends on the world wide web. There is a lesson in there somewhere beyond just getting bit by this particular bit fun. This, at least, is harmless.

Well that sucks, I thought it was real until I found it on English YouTube and the film was different and had a slight animated feel to it. The video on the Japanese site appeared real. Well it is still cool music and a great concept. Too bad it wasn't real.
First person verification re the spoof:
"Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa" they don't exist at U of I. Maybe they closed them to get supplementary funding for the football team.
"John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Iowa" I spent most of my teen years a few miles south of Bancroft. The last time I was there it had a gas station, a couple bars and hatchery.
