Some of you may remember I was chasing these at the beginning of my MGExperience. And over on Buy,Sell and Trade so is Roy and he was advised to try the link above. Well I emailed them - they'll be in stock soon under $10 so go for it (but they can only do back orders at the moment).

Barrie have you seen a sample of one? I have one on our 1967 GT and would be interested in a couple more.

Chris no I haven't seen but they emailed a photo (although it's possibly photoshopped or CGI) but it's not that one in your picture. It's the forerunner to #513123A the white six-eared knurled knob. These were fitted to MGA and early MGB, and they were also fitted as original equipment to TR2, TR3, Austin MINI, MG ZA/ZB Magnette etc

Interesting, I was under the impression that this one was an original cap, but maybe not.

If you have lots of extra money here's a NOS one. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-MINI-COOPER-BMC-LOCKHEED-BRAKE-CLUTCH-MASTER-STEEL-CAP-NEW-OLD-STOCK-OE-/320867151437?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ab52c2e4d

That's hilarious! The postage is more than it's worth. My '67, which I've owned for 40 years, came stock with the plastic caps. RAY

Chris, the cap in your pic is the cap from the can of brake fluid. Older Girling can caps would fit the masters... which was handy when the original cap seized to the master, or fell down in the pit behind the fender.

Here's what I did with mine with original plastic caps. (see attachment). 40mm plastic coated logo stickers, excellent quality, fits top of cap perfectly. Available from Pat's MG and Triumph Parts, http://stores.ebay.com, $5.99 in either black/silver or black/red. (see attachment) Ebay item numbers are 190587588254 and 200693185915.

Must be the grease that warrants the cost - urban legend was that the mini-boys had bought up the old stock - this does nothing to allay that myth.

But seriously this was that to which I was referring. I had a flurry of emails at the time of ordering but nothing since and no reply to an email sent recently asking for an update. Roy if you're reading this have you got yours?

Thanks Peter that explains my mystery.

How did you treat the steel reservoirs? Mine are quite rusty but there's no point in trying to paint them - the brake fluid will make it peel off.

Brian if you don't tell anyone else on here - I had mine chrome plated!
