Now, there's a trailer I like...that little white front/rear one....was it open for use even up under the faux hood?
I could never get a good look the thing......there was always too big a crowd around it!
It wasn't open when I was there, but it sure was a short little thing.
Great pics, Eric......
1) I LOVE the picture of the red Mk I B from New Mexico with the Triumph TR7 on a trailer behind it! I think that says a lot......
2) The BRG MGA is nice - was BRG not an original color for A's? Seems like I hardly see any in that color.....
3) The Iris Blue '64 B is phenomenal. Was reading about it on the team.net list, apparently the gent just finished the resto and won his first and last Concours....
4) The factory GT V8 is really sweet.....
Dan D - definitely going to be in NJ for 2004!!
Tony, You should have seen under the hood of this green MGBGT V-8. It was the cleanest installation I have ever seen. There was not a single wire or line to be seen when viewed from the front. Every hole in the firewall and inner fenders was filled and slicked off. Just a beautiful sparkling engine, Nothing else in there.
That's my plan, JDW...run the wiring outside the inner fender....where'd he bring his alternator wires in?
I got a good look at this little trailer. Beautiful piece of body work. Just flawless. He even left creases along the lines of the original hood to maintain the lines.
And yes, you could stow stuff up under to the front. Really nice trailer, and matched his car perfectly, including the wheels and tires.
Great photos, Eric. We'll get ours posted soon.
And for all you doubters, make sure you see Eric's photo of us taking off for the rally. Yes, that is Chas. in the navigator's seat.
(Of course, somehow we turned an 82 mile rally into an 143-mile one, but that's another story...)
Wish I could take credit for the pice, but they're the work of Mr. Ketcherside
(gryf@maxwebb.com) I just found the link!
He must have ran everything in at the back of the engine and down under the heads somewhere. There was ablolutely no wire, line, or hole to be found anywhere. Slickest installation I ever saw.
That trailer is cool. Gives me a headache looking at it, though. Like I got a big blind spot.
I liked that 'H' valve under the hood of that car. Sometimes you gotta use what works!
Dan: Where can I find the site with info on 64 iris blue b?
Bill Taylor
That porcelain hot water handle must be on a Midget - the heater control valve is just that - a manually operated valve.
When I bought my '71 Midget my wife and I picked up the car one evening. Of course, being young and knowing everything there was to know about cars, I turned down the salesman's offer to go over the car and explain everything to me. We took off for my parents house so I could show off the little Blaze beast to my Dad (who was also a car nut). Halfway there, my lovely wife complained about the cold so I turned on the heat. Nothing. Nothing but cold air that is.
Turned around and drove back to the dealer, told the salesman about the non-functioning heater. With an I-thought-you-knew-it-all grin, he popped the bonnet and opened the valve. I'm glad it was at night so it wasn't noticable that my face now matched the Midget....
I got a kick out of that picture too - I love an owner with a sense of humor. At a local car evet, one of the hot rods used a beer bottle for a catch can for the radiator - ya gotta love that!
I'm in one of the rally lines and he got a pic of the SIR Brit special, my valve cover
Speaking of trailers (OK, people were speaking of trailers) I liked the red one with the keg (and tap) built in. I forget what the tag on it read, but it was pretty funny.
Bill, wasn't a site, just some e-mails posted to the mgs@team.net mailing list. A guy there also posted a powerpoint presentation of all of the winners.... Chuck Renner posted the following, he is a member of the St Louis MG club that hosted the event..... Chuck's post -
For those who wanted to see the winners at MG 2003, I've put a copy of
the PowerPoint presentation used for the awards ceremony online.
It's a bit over 6MB. Depending on whether or not the MG 2003 web site
will be up for a while or not, I'll try to get a copy of the
presentation as well as some pictures posted there. In the meantime:
