MGB: Mg and truimph motors

Hi all, FNG here, had a question about mg midget and triumph engines, I have a 1500 1975 midget, what triumph engine will bolt into my current transmission, are they both the same engine?mg and triumph? whats the difference? they look alike.. I'm still learning...thanks

HI,

I read somewhere that they are indeed the same engines but the heads are different? Or is oil filler cap just on the opposite side?

Same motor. I think mine was out of a 79 spitefire. Bolted up no problems no where. Just code on motor has wrong prefix.
