Francisco, due to privacy laws here in the US, there is no way that I know of to research prior owners. That is unless somebody here personally recognises the car.
Good luck on your search.
Fortunately for me, I did the search on my car prior to all the new laws. I have photostats (remember them) of the titles for several prior owners.
The Department of Motor Vehicles does not typically keep records from so far back, and even if they did they would not release it without a legal reason to do so. The car may have been outside of California originally because the license plate pictured was not issued until 1962 or later. A plate for any car licensed in California before 1962 would be orange with black letters. It's possible that the original California plate was replaced with a later one, but more likely that the car was brought into California from another state some time after 1961.
If you post the car number then someone may recognize it.
Go to www.namgar.com, and contact the registrar, John Drake, through the web site. Give him all the numbers you have for the car - chassis, engine, body, colours it has been, etc. He may be able to find some information if the car was previously registered with NAMGAR.
Peter.
Thanks for all the informations that y've posted. I will still try to find the history of my car.

The original American registration of my car was VCM 021 ( 30/06/1956) . I think DOL 413 is a second registration ?
Can this help someone to find the history....
