Happy Easter All,
Well it had been so long since I had an LBC in a drivable condition that I forgot one important supply for a Sunny Day Outing in the Hot Carolina sun... sunscreen.... ouch.
With the gods finaly chosing to give us wonderfull weather during a weekend off and the completion of a long interior restoration on the 74 MGB it was time for an extended outing. So as the morning passed it was time to get out there and give the LBC a wash and wax. So with the lack of a soft top, i rounded up the neighbor and lifted on the hard top in order to give her a wash. After a couple of hours she was clean and waxed and ready for the road.
As i completed packing the cooler i put to geather the necessary essentials for a drive to the beach... cooler, sunglasses, hat, cell phone (with AAA pre programed in), driving music, and the essential tools for an emergant roadside repair... surely ive got everything i need... i thought.
And with that thought it was off i went. The CBB did great, she ran strong, looked good and turned heads as i rolled up on the beaches. After a nice relaxing day it was home i went. And it wasnt till then that i realized what i had forgotten... the sunscreen. You see.. a Navy submarine Officer who has just reciently transfered to shore duty in South Carolina just wasnt thinking about his lack of sun exposure coupled with the hot southern sun.
So now i sit home having enjoyed the day in the B and now enjoying the soothing feeling of aloe.
Well i hope everyone else enjoyed there easter weekend as much as i did.

You won't forget that again, will you!! :o) Actually I had a great top down run today!!! I can'tbelieve how good she runs!!!
Just finished interior toow and put some new tires on. It was 56 degrees and sunny in Denver. Top down, windows up, heater on about 1/2 way and 5 hours running "errands" and just mucking around. We NEEDED that! After 3 hours on Friday (1/2 day off) cleaning the wheels (hadn't in 3 years...shame) I was due. You'd be surprised at how much faster you burn at 5, 280 feet but we did take precautions.
One small breakdown. Fuel pump stopped and it was just the hot wire that had come loose. At least it was in a beautiful million dollar neighborhood. Took about 15 minutes to figure out and borrow a flashlight (duh....need one in the car) to fix in about 5 minutes.
