Saw this article on the UK's Telegraph web site today. MGB: the nation's favourite classic car http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/classiccars/7398669/MGB-the-nations-favourite-classic-car.html
Not the greatest article but conveys the message many of us are familiar with.

If asked which car was a typical classic, I'd probably have said the Mini, just on the basis of duration and numbers, but the MGB is certainly the sports car that best fits the criterion.
I think he's wrong about New Avengers' Purdey driving a yellow GT. The Internet thinks she drove a Harvest Gold rubber-bumpered MGB tourer (MOC 232P) and a yellow TR7 coupe; seems he has conflated the two in his misty-eyed recollection :spinning:
Purdey drove, among other cars:
Jaguar XJS Automatic
MGB
The series used a lot of different cars, perhaps to showcase them. Good import product.
... and the Jag.

this came up on an interview with her, aparently lots of viewers noticed the different cars and lack of continuity but they didn't even know what car they had until it was droped off on the trailer, they came direct from BL on loan.
Watched the first episode on New Avengers season1 disk 1 over the weekend and yes she was driving a rubber bumper MGB yellowish colour
