I've posted the slave cylinder problems I have been having in the past. I was going to repair the threads on the striped out clutch line port using helcoil thread repair but I could not find the right size without having to spent over $100 for a hole kit (a new slave is 100-120). Also, the machine shop said the metal was not right to repair the threads. I reluctantly decided to purchase a new one through VB for the $99 stated price but I went to order and they no longer carry it. I then went to advanced auto parts web site and they have one listed for $115. Price is not the issue. My question is the part manufacture they list is Beck/Arnley and the picture they show it not like the one I have currently. Mine is a Girling slave. If that picture is right do you think its going to fit or not. Or do you just think the picture is wrong. I also see that MGOC has a slave cylinder for a MGC but I'm not used to using parts suppliers from over seas. What do you all think I should do?

The problem we are having is the Girling hydrolics are NLA. I have used the Beck Arnol clutch Master for a B and it was exactly like the OEM. Unlike the one that has the plastic reservoir. I would ask you local Advance to get it for you and that way you can see it before you except it.
Girling NLA, thats news to me. I'll look into the slave at work tommorrow. Oh, and about Heli-coils, thats not an unreasonable price, i had to buy a kit to repair a stripped thread on my Toyota's block and it cost me about that, i only did use one of the things, but at least it got me going.
Hi David,
I'm with Tom -- have them get it and then you can check it out. If it looks completely wrong, you should be able to refuse it.
Beck/Arnley is a fairly large name in import repair parts. Back when I dealt a lot with German cars, we sold some of their stuff, and I don't recall any problems with parts.
Let us know how what you decide to do and how it works out. I'll be needing a slave cylinder eventually!
David, I'd do as Tom and Rob suggest. If that doesn't work, or if the part is totally wrong, I'd bet someone on the board has a good housing that can be rebuilt (they're easy!) or you can get one from places like Apple Hydraulics.
if possible check with Proper MG (web site ) they can do wonders sometimes.
I called them. They only carry parts for the MGC that are compatable with the B. They could not help me. Thanks anyway.
David
Thats all I need is the housing. I've been posting about this for a while. Noone has come forward and said they have one yet. I've tried everywhere to find one. I'm gonna try places in England now. Apple does not list slave cylinders on there web site but I'll call them anyway.
David
Any luck at work finding one. I struck out at Advanced auto, the one thay had listed for a C is for the B. I'm running out of options here. I might have to go over to England to find one.
I struck out, the one they list for the C is realy for the B. NO one else list one.
Bought couple of heater control valves through the MGOC recently and was very happy with the service (lot's of emails before I bought) and product and they got them here nearly as fast as Moss ground delivery. Jerry might have knowledgeable opinion on that.
I saw that they had one listed but I wanted to try everywhere on this side of the pond before I went to England to find one. Its looking like I might be calling them soon.
Can get one for you, an original girling for $100 us. Just takes about two weeks for my next air shipment from the UK.
I may have a supplier here in the US that has one. I will check tomarrow.
Have you called Robert Kirk (Kirk's Auto Refitters)? 1-800-547-5747
HTH!
