I don't want to start a rant about people or OT subjects but please people when youhave a problem and ask for help visit the message and tell us how it worked out. Sometimes I dig through my memory, reference three or four books or do YOUR searching in the archives FOR you and then we never find out what the original problem turned out to be and what the final resolution was...
NOT picking on anyone, I am sure I have done it also once or twice 8-) but ti helps everyone when we go back for the research ourselves to know what worked in the past and for me anyway what didn't.

Well, let me thank everyone I may have slighted for all the assist you have offerred over the years. I truly am very appreciative!!:(
Just posted a final solution on my drum brake question last night for that reason.
OK - you had your rant.
Used to bother me, too, but I realized that not everyone here is aware of the library & search feature. I just chilled a bit and make an effort to help by telling what (little) I know & pointing out the search feature. Some folks here aren't even aware of the shop manuals out there before they tackle a job that they really need on for.
I used to be a teacher in a Voc. School - answered the same questions over & over. Perhaps I'm just that way still.
With regards to results, I often PM the person to find out. Even learn a few things that way.
Well just so noone feels I am talking about THEM in particular...
I often come here for a fast answer with greasy fingers and a half (dis-) assembled area of the car and sometimes I need it fast too.
Thanks everyone for ALL the help you have offered that worked out, and thanks for all the advice I didn't take and should have.

OR, which ones are good. With a recent question about an overdrive, I was directed to a Bently manual and an Amazon link. My manual came in last week, and I love it. And Owen is right. A thank you would be nice gesture. So I have to thank Mac Townsend and Gooser. And.. everyone else who helps here on-board..
I posted results when I fixed problems I asked about but found that if the post is old people here don't really go back a second look.
It is not so much a thank-you that we want - more we want to know what actually fixed the problem. That way when it comes up again, the quality of responses will be better.
And I've given up on hoping that people will know how to use the search engine.
I'm like James up there, I used to do adult training in a technical world. And I could "see" the same question coming at about the same time every time I taught certain classes.
I know the search engine is pretty dern good, but even as an electronios and computer trainer, it took me a while (and some clues from others) to figure out how to run everything. If I have it figured out yet!
Going back right now to see if I have posted all my solutions. My son calls in a dither about something, I wrack my brain, give advice, and then have to beat the solution out of him!

But when I look up the same problem I will see what worked for you instead of just seeing 3 theories.
