so the middle box is just a silencer that reduces lower frequencies and the back box is a resonator? ..not that i have a middle box anymore..

The middle/front box dampens the low tones and the rear dampens the highs. I run the Peco system with just the rear muffler and the tone is nice and deep under accelleration.
