I recently had a post asking about the different MG Midget Steering column spline sizes.

I was able to get the correct hub for my car at Europa Specialists Spares. I have a Mountney steering wheel which came with the wrong hub. I discovered that MG made a 5/8" a 11/16" and a 3/4" shaft for the cars. My steering shaft was 5/8" with 36 splines. If any one can supply more information on the different size shafts and splines please add to this post. and save someone else the trouble of getting the correct part.

After all of the trouble I went through, I did find the correct hub for my car. Mountney also makes a quick release hub for the Midget. You will need to buy the hub and the adaptor plate to fit the wheel.

I also found that Grant Steering wheels and hubs sell at a much better price if you want a racing type steering wheel with no horn push for you car.

Thanks for the help.

Ron

Where are you measuring the diameter? Across the splines? I have a couple that I can count up for you...

Thanks Craig,

I measured across the splines. It is interesting that the people that sell the hubs can't find a way to make this information available.

Thanks again,

Ron
