I do not shed a tear for the people in this story, even though the news is trying to slant it their way.
You committed a felony when you snuck across the border instead of doing it the legal, proper way. Do your paperwork, aquire a work visa and go to work here. That is the law, and if you do not follow the law, you are an illegal alien, immigrant, whatever your think you should be called.
Go back to your homeland, and if you want to return, do it correctly this time...

And as for the three kids born here, there is the strain on our healthcare and education system right there.

But here's how the local news is reporting the flip side of yours:

That atricle is a crock of BS, that liberal hogwash is a prime example of media not reporting the truth. Since that place is 1 mile from my home, and I drive by it everyday, let me tell you the real truth. The chick in the story lives at the first house over the railroad tracks, and she is one of the very few that has a entire faimly here, salsa music and Guatamalan food my ass, more like, 25 drunk epsanics there every Friday and Saturday night getting drunk in the front yard, and it's common for the police to come there and arrest folks, there has been numerous stabbing at that property. Not 25 yards from her house, they found a espanic man murdered, stabbed to death, lying in the overbrush, he's been there for several days in the summer heat, many of the area espanics had been viewing the body for days, there was trail leading to the body, none of them called the police, they just left the rotting body there. At the corner convienence store it was not uncommon to see a couple of dozen drunken men hanging out in front of the store there every weekend, fights would errupt between them and many arrest have been made there, it would be no place you would want your wife to stop, but just years early all of us frequented the store. Oh as far as it being a ghost town here now, when I passed by there a hour ago, two mexicans were sitting their on bicycles directly in front of chicken plant, one was drinking a quart of beer. OH ad the interparator, he hangs around the store and has been convicted of selling drugs, he is currently on probabation.

You want true reporting, there ya go. The title of my article would have been.

Hap, did they bring all the children around to get everyone to worry about seperating the families. Here when they do it they have a plan in place to react and get the families out of school and down at the raid for the news people to show how terrible it is.

None of that here - it was done right from the best I can tell so far. Legal jobless citizens are moving in filling th evoid as if it didn't happen. Like Hap said - it may start looking like America again instead of Guatemala as in James' link's depiction. Oh, one thing that articl left out - one of the smells was a dead body left under a piece of plywood for several weeks in that "Guatemalan" neighborhood last summer. I understand the stench was terrible by the time somebody called in the police. He'd been stabbed. The local news has shown a little sypathy - very little, though.

What bothers me is that the liberal media calls them "undocumented workers" instead of ILLEGAL aliens. We need to stop making them US citizens just because they were born here. If your parents are illegal and you are born here, then you are illegal as well. Many of us on this board are immigrants or children of immigrants and our parents or grandparents did it the right way to make sure we would have the honor of being part of this great country. This country is being treated like a teenager would treat a rental car and it has to stop somewhere. Dont get me wrong, I am all for letting them enter our country LEGALLY so they can pay taxes like you and I do. Membership has its price.

As an legal Alien I'll state here and now I have absolutely no sympathy for them at all. yes things may have been bad at home, but there are ways for people of limited resources to get permission to come to America that they could have legally used.

One such way is for the Chicken Factory to SPONSOR them officially thru Homeland Security. Oh thats right the right the factory would of then had to pay the the same Minimum Wage the rest of us would entitled to and I guess that would cut into their profits.

I do feel some sympathy for the children born here, simply as they are innocent bystanders brought into this by their parents inability to obey laws.

I do wonder how many of these "immigrant" broke or bent the laws in their home countries and that is one of the reasons they wanted to leave??

Should we look at the anchor baby clause in the 13 or 14th amendment. It does allow for control to be used to qualify. Theoretically we don't have political control of an illegal alien.
