My new neighbor has a 280z that will not start in the morning when it is cold...the lights come on...battery tested good(so where he took it said) it runs and cranks great when he gets home. When the key is turned it doesnt even make the clicking noise that normally happens with a battery prob...that made me think it was a sensor or maybe the ignition switch but i really have no idea what would do this...actually im making another trip this weekend to go get my car from texas...anyone want a free 77 roadster with OD...you have to take the engine out for me though...so i guess you pay for labor(i dont really need the engine but i plan on rebuilding that one while driving the other). Oh yeah i moved to oxford/anniston Alabama from houston tx

It's not a sensor and not likely to be the ignition switch. Check the posts Tom mentioned. Also, Japs like a lot of electric gizmos on their cars so there could be a relay between the switch and the starter solonoid. If it's a stick shift there will be a safety switch in clutch mechanism somewhere too. The solonoid is still the most likely culprit as it has to deal with more power than any other component in the starting system besides maybe the starter itself.
Free!?
Where's the '77 located??
Welcome to the Heart of Dixie.
Not cold enough for it to act up here. It has been fine sense it warmed up.
missing fender...windshield...very little rust no dings...like i said was a parts car but i think ive got a buyer/picker upper but he kinda stood me up this weekend but it might have been my fault...if he falls through i would consider someone else...thinking of doing the pull myself and keeping the o/d tranny now though
