MGB: Movin to Mexico???

had a fella out to day for some MG parts, he is an accountant under contract to GM...He told me stuff that freaks me out...he said closing the 2000 dealerships across the country saved GM nada..cuz GM had no financial interest in the cost of them...a forced Gov't edict. He said that Satrurn closing was another forced Gov't edict. He said their product line was being pushed for eco weenies by Gov't also. He claims that it is a Gov't grab of America financial wealth...that I already knew....
The Mexico in the title....??? he claims he is buying land there, I said why not Costa Rica...he claims the property values have doubled in the last two years, that Mexic is the better value....Whats going on.

As I understand. One cannot buy land in Mexico as a non-native and manny other rules that apply. However, this info is rather old and may have change in recent years. Some one with more recent info will hopefully correct me

I have personally looked at property in SA and at the end of day, outside the caribbean and its twisters, I have found no place like this place I'd rather live...of course, I don't live in the land of MI and its et al.....

You can buy land in Mexico but you will be doing so through a Bank acting almost like a partner. But it is a good title and you do own the land. The problem is always the title to the land. If a Mexican claims the land and can prove he was given ownership in 1900 it can be a problem. What most of our employees did was to have a wife who retained her citizensip and they could use their American earnings and but up property without problem. It is a lttle too risky for me but many are doing it.
