Painter called today...he's looking at picking it up in a couple of weeks (he works on only 1 or 2 classic cars at a time)...he's gonna come over before then to go over the disassembly he wants done (he strips, preps, repairs, etc to paint the car totally disassembled)....my mechanicals are completely finished, new wood everywhere in body, dash/instruments already finished (way to go Nishonger), new tires/wheels, completely new leather upholstery (PO had bought an entire kit)...we'll disassemble & lay everything off firewall & he'll tape/cover engine, etc (PO painted chassis proper Black before new wood installed)...we'll remove dash, carpet & seats...fenders, doors, hood are already off for paint, new gas tank comes off next....I've never used ths guy but he did my friend, Don Province's, TD & it is absolutely gorgeous! Don's car was originally green on green & is now red w/biscuit interior...one of the nicest paint jobs I've ever seen!

....we're gonna go back with Ivory body color & my upholstery guy is gonna dye the biscuit leather green (Ivory/green was a correct color in 1953) while car is in for paint....Jerri wants Ivory & the only 2 upholstery colors available for it in 1953 were Red & Green...my upholstery guy says he can dye leather Green easier than Red (for some reason he said the Red is translucent & will never be as bright as if it had ben originally dyed red)..so, it'll be an unusual combination - but correct!

Tony: There's a TD Here in my hometown that is ivory/green and it is a very pretty combination, IMHO.

How's the Corsa coming? Did you have to do battle with the snakes or did the ammonia work? AL Bradley

Saw a TD at a car show a couple of weeks ago (I was there with my father-in-law and his 1934 Ford Pickup!) - it looked to be all original! Sweet car. Those T series MG's are really classic looking. Maybe when I'm rich I'll get one, or maybe a Morgan +4, or maybe...........

I'm looking forward to pics of the finished product.

Al....the building is full of furniture in front of Corsa parts....so, I've gotta go back anyway....car cleaned up good & the engine actually turns over solidly...doesn't fire so we're gonna have to clean/repair the Mallory dual point ignition....2 cans of carb cleaner down the throats of the carbs & they look pretty clean....after interior was removed we found rust in front floorboards (hey, I thought only MG's did that!) so 2 new floor boards are on order....I'm not gonna bring it home til its finished...friend will handle mechanical restoration, then to body shop, then upholstery....

Gave the Ivory paint code (body) & the Woodland Green paint code (grille fins are painted green to match interior) to local Sherwinn Williams auto paint center...they can't mix them as everything is lacquer but have contacted the factory who will give them proper codes for modern paints in a few hours....great place to do busines with...just contact 'Don' at 256-534-2491 (Clemmons Auto Parts) in Huntsville....as he said, "I've been mixing paint for 20 years, if I can't find a code nobody can!"
