My 1980 MGB hit 80,000 miles on the way to work today. Happy 80th. I hope I hold up that well at 80.

It looked at first glance that you actually got it up to 80 mph. :I3:

My thought was that in my G.T. V-8, 80mph I was still in 3rd on my way to 100mph, in 3rd! 80,000 miles, thats nothing. I leave in the A.M to go to Gary In. to Ark. to Ga. & back to De. around 4,000 miles & I am going in the G.T. V-8 that has 510,000 miles on her today. I hope the second 500,000 miles is as much fun as the first! A good ride to me is NOT how maney states you go through, BUT how maney TIME ZONES you go through!!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking that's pretty fast for a RB car.

It must be great to take the B out in DFW traffic, and to Canton Trade Days. Good thing the car has overdrive. Are you able to park the car under cover at work to protect it from the sun and hail storms?

Hooray for the big Eight Oh! Your MGB is just a kid compared to some of them here! My Mini will be hitting 80,000 miles soon. So will the Sprite.

Cheers!

Gawd - 80K miles in 30 years, your B must look like new. Must admit when I first looked at the topic I thought it was MPH too.

My 80 also hit 80 this Monday. 80MPH, not 80K. With the top down, and heater blasting. Kind of fun.

That's nothing!
My 'B' hit 98 on the airport runway at Rendezvous in June............

On radar!

Oh, 80 thousand miles?
Uh, oh, nevermind..........

Try 138,000 miles (sort of a daily driver for me now) and still going strong!

Gentlemen, my MG absolutely eats up the road cruising at 80 mph in overdrive. I'm a little surprised anyone is surprised that 80 mph is a normal speed to drive the car.

80,000. Just nicely run in.
