....they just raised our property taxes for more money in last Tuesdays election, now the MEA teachers union wants even more. Our dead corpses aren't even cold yet from the murder of last week, now they are demonstrating at the State Capitol for even more.......they are corrupt as corrupt can be...and they are responsible for our children??????????????
They are the most powerful union in the state by far.............They should be disbanded and imprisoned....
Dear Wyatt,
The MEA is planning to rally against you this Tuesday! On November 10th, the state's largest teacher union will descend upon Lansing and demand that legislators take more money from your pocket and give it to them. These public school bureaucrats don't want to make the tough decisions about their budgets and benefits that you are already having to make.
Let's make sure these union bureaucrats aren't the only voice legislators hear that day! While they are standing in the cold, fresh off the buses sure to be coming from around the state, holding their union-issued signs and eating their union-issued lunches, you can make a difference on your break or at lunch time.
We are asking that you make one phone call to your Senator or Representative that day and remind them that the government needs to live within its' budget, just like we do. Remind them that taxpayers and kids matter more than the jackpot pensions and platinum-clad health care demanded by government school employees.
All you have to do to fight back is to make a single phone call. Find your state senator and his/her phone number by clicking here and your state representative by clicking here. Let's Make Lansing Listen!
If you have the time, and are interested in making a trip to Lansing on Tuesday, please meet Wendy Day in the Senate Conference Room on the first floor (NOT the ground floor) of the Capitol Building anytime between 9:30AM and noon. Wendy will be leading a direct effort to lobby senators in Lansing that day.
I know most of you can't drive to Lansing on Tuesday - but the odds are that the MEA union has plenty of teachers that CAN. So, lets counter the union demands for endless pay and benefit increases and make the phone calls this Tuesday!

Oh, one last thing: did you see the article about the Detroit Zoo in the Friday, November 6th Detroit Free Press? According to the Freep, the Zoo is switching employees over from expensive defined-benefit pension plans to modern 401k retirement plans. The Zoo has now reduced employee benefits costs from 70% of the cost of the average workers' salary to about 29% of the average workers salary - saving taxpayers millions of dollars.
Too bad the MEA, school bureaucrats and most other government employees refuse to make a similar change. Friends, that school money ain't "going to the children's educations" - its going to the government classes' jackpot pensions.
Make the call Tuesday.
