After looking at some affordable examples of GT's up here, (and deepening my winter depression) I decided against another major reconstruction project and did a little cross-border shopping. Bought this '72 from another MGE forum member in New Jersey and it was just delivered...
Starts up on the first crank with 75 pounds of pressure. Overdrive, VP14 cam, aluminum flywheel, Peco header, neg camber arms, poly bushings, 7/8" sway bar 10:1 compression, Flowspeed ported head and intake...
Needs a little minor body work, some fresh paint and some new covers for the seats... Nothing that can't wait. Ready to enjoy right now. Woohoo!

Alright! Cool acquisition! Speaking of which, from the background, I gotta ask...does the heater work?:bouncing:
One year too young to be perfect, but one sweet car. :D
I love the bumperless front end
Ooooh!! That's a nice looking car. Congratulations. Well bought.
Looks to me like if you take as good of care to it as the PO did you will have a long term grin. I think the air dam is after market but I know from experience that it plants the front end down on high speeds, you combine that with the OD and your sitting in a winner. You did good. I soo happy for you.
Nice score Greg! I saw that car when it went up for sale and my first thought was, there's one of those very good deals (nice car and not alot of money) that don't come up all that often within a reasonable distance from home. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
sweet! Love the color! Looks like he threw in a pair of channel locks!
Nice purchase greg. I like the wheels, but not quite the same sparkle as your wires:)
Thanks for the kind words everyone! In response to a few PM's, I don't mind sharing the price since it was listed here by the previous owner anyway... I paid $4500 and it cost me another $900 to have it shipped up here. From the hearbreaking craigslist and trader fyi's I see here so often, I know some of you in the south can get more car for less money, but it sure doesn't happen much up here, so I'm tickled pink. Oh, the channel locks are mine ha. The knob on the bonnet release was broken off so I opened it up with those until I could put on a spare this morning!
Nice vehicle, Greg! I am starting to find GTs more and more visually appealing, and yours definitely "speaks" to my developing aesthetic taste! Well done!
Beauty GT!
Looking like it'll be another car to put on my dream- car list. :)
Enjoy!
very nice Greg, I also like the bumperless front end. and all this positive feed back will make it even more enjoyable for you.congrats
Very nice! I love the wheels, too. BGTs just look SO wonderful in dark colors!
Greg:
Are we going to see this car at Ancaster this Spring? Good buy, compared to what is available generally in Ontario.

I agree, and the anthracite alloys on a black car are really sharp.
A real mean machine you got there Greg, hope to see it in a few months time when I'm over in the US and Canada with my TF, maybe bump into you in Toronto or at MG2010.
