Looking to rebuild seats in a 73 b. Can anyone recommend the best kit to go with and where to order. As usual price is an issue.
Thanx in advance

I like the quality of Moss kits. But like you said price is an issue, try Victoria Brits, Nice kits, or Sportscar Warehouse, sells the same as Victoria, probably a little cheaper.

If you ask Moss if they will meet the Vicky Brit price, they will, excepting very rarely.

yeah, but why reward the guys with the higher prices? i'd rather give the business to the guys with the more reasonable prices in the first place, thinking maybe that will encourage them to keep prices moderate (also, i'm just naturally cheap!)

If you carry your billfold in your right hip pocket try taking it out when you're driving a car.

That's one problem that I don't have -- my wallet is so thin (from buying MG parts) that I can hardly tell that it's there.

We just rebuilt my daughter's 78b seats. Bought everything from the Proper MG, and were happy with fit and quality. They were also the lowest price, and may still be on sale. Guys on here had good tips for the installation process.

Between Moss and VB, I have found Moss to be more knowledgeable, have better service, and better quality. The last I don't understand, since they both are Heritage importers.Anyway, that's why i reward them.
It sounds like Ace has the better answer though!

If you are looking for more support for your leg, you might consider placing a wooden wedge under the seat mounts to raise the front of the seat a little.

I haven't done it, but I am considering it when I get around to doing the interior. The ones I have seen, use a wedge about 1.5 inch wide that tapers from about 1-1.5 inch in the front to almost nothing in the back. The seat mounting rails then bolt through this into the floor.

No joke Ed. I was being serious for once. I carry on the right and had the same problem as Todd before I got my MG.

I have the same problem John - if I don't take my wallet out of my back pocket, my leg goes numb after about 30 minutes.

I was having serious back problems about fifteen years ago. I read an article on how carrying your wallet in your back pocket acts like a wedge and can put your back out of alignment, causing back problems. I started carrying it in my front pocket, problem solved just about overnite. I still carry my wallet in my front pocket, and everything works fine!!

JDW, I didn't mean to imply that you were not serious. I was the one joking. Having experienced back and leg trouble for some time, I know it is no fun. I have also heard of the solution of removing your wallet. Some tiimes the simple answer is the best - I ended up having surgery. I wish my pain & numbness could have been taken care of by removing my wallet. I also like the idea of tilting the seat front up. It might make the seating more comfortable. I often forgo long trips in MG because the seating is not as comfortable to me as some of the other vehicles I drive.

No No Ed. That was as much for general information as anything. Notice that I threw in a line about "before I got an MG too"? I'm full of BS and I know it, just wanted everybody to know I wasn't just piling on some more.
