My wife and i drove down from long island to see my son pitch in his first college game ( Columbia v.s. Liberty) never realizing that Liberty is the Jerry Falwell college. Not theres an issuue there. Anyway had a nice 9 hour driving there and about 11 back today. Spent two days in Lynchburg City Stadium waiting for junior to get his chance - never came! Big difference from high school ball and all those travel teams he played on. In College its all business. He was heavily recruited by many schools and we were thrilled he chose an Ivy league. I guess its just a matter of time. Anyhow on the drive there and back I saw no MG's and one triumph. I was hoping to see someone on the road so i could post one of those - "MG sightings". For those of you Virginians, you sure do have a beautiful country side on Rt 29, lot of Civil War history (i bought a $9.00 bullet!) Hopefully next time we will be driving the "B".

I went to graduate school at Lynchburg College, the other college in Lynchburg. There is a restoration shop in Lynchburg that does British cars, can't recall the name. Fred's car museum in nearby Appamattox closed down last year I think. I have a college aged kid myself. Going to the college events as a parent is a lot of fun isn't it?

Thanks for leaving $9 in the local economy! We only have about 100,000,000 more of those bullets left y'all, so come on down and bring yer money!

You paid $9 for a bullet? I'd have sold you a whole box for that ;)

Sorry to hear your son didn't get in the game. Hope he goes on and lands a contract with the White Sox - they can always use some good pitching arms.

Go Sox!

on the line with the 3 mile grade.
It was on that grade that he lost his airbrakes
you can see what a jump that he made."

Richard, I used to get over to the R-M Women's College from time to time while I was in grad school....looking for, of course, women!

Jim - my wife is a graduate of RMWC. We go up there from time to time for reunions etc...

You know that it went coed last year because they were having some financial difficulties. Bit of a shame really, because it really is an excellent liberal arts college for women.

Yep...being United Methodist and with Randolph-Macon College nearby in Ashland, Virginia; we were well informed about the change at R-MWC in Lynchburg. If your wife remembers a handsome graduate student at Lynchburg College from Wilmington, North Carolina with a moustache and a silver Datsun 310-GX in the early 1980s.....I know nothing, nothing!
