MGB: Mystery logo

What with all the mystery manifolds, I am reminded of a question I had before the bbs started. Several years ago, I came across a fram,e engine trans radiator and steering for what was obviously a Brit car. The horn push had that Dr.s symbol, the two snakes winding around whatever. I never have been able to place it, though it seemed familiar.
The engine size reminded me of a Morris, and the radiator was not long, but tall.
Ideas?

Not even close. There was something in the middle (sword?), and two snakes twining around it. Cadeause? IS that the term?

I wuz wrong again. I've seen that logo too, it will take me a while to dredge up what it was. I do remember it's Italian, no longer built, and was quite a car in it's day.

a caduceus is the two-snake sprialing a sword thingamjigger

hwoever the alfa romeo is the only car I could find in my 'Encyclopida of the Car' with any sort of snake in the logo. The Lancia emblem had a sword in it, but no snakes

Caduceus--the staff carried by Mercury, the messenger of the gods in Roman myth (Hermes in Greek myth). It was also therefore carried by heralds in ancient times. I forget how it became associated with physicians/surgeons. Maybe because Mercury/Hermes was also a god associated with manual skill.

Ah, that's the feeling of 6 years of graduate school actually coming to some practical use....
