MGB: new guy, clutch squaling

hi all, from what i have been able to find on this subject i'm suspecting the pilot bearing. once i get it apart what do i want to look for on the bearing to determin if it needs replacing or just lubed? swaped trannys last year, its done great till the last 2 months or so.

Just replace it.

Before you do though, heat up some engine oil in a sauce pan and let the thing soak in it for a while. The correct material is bronze impregnated with oil, called Oilite. I is slightly porous and retains oil as a lubricating medium.

Not much info on the problem! What do you mean by squaling and when does it do this? Last one I quieted down did it with the clutch depresed and it was the bushing for the clutch fork that allowed the throwout bearing to misalign.

Peter, Yes my fork bushing is shot also. I'll be going through the whole system once it's out of the car.The pilot bushing is one of the few things I have not dealt with on these cars and just was not sure what to look for.
