I'm totally restoring a '67 B. The one improvement I would like to make is to put in a full syncro transmission. I have it mounted in the car, and everything seems to work. I'm a little concerned about where the shifter comes through the tunnel. Also I found a full syncro traansmission with overdrive, so I am considering removing the other tranny and putting in the overdrive transmission. As I haven't had a chance yet to pull it down yet and see what it's like inside, I was considering getting it up and running with the other(non-overdrive) transmission, and then as an other winter project rebuild and install the overdrive transmission. Does this make sense? Or will I have to make some other changes that would be easier before I install the interior? As I'm doing, or trying to do, a first class job does this make sense? I would appreciate some feedback, especially from anybody who has done this particular swap. My e-mail address is www.alidas@island.net. I would like tohear from anybody! Thanks Gary

I'm no pro at converting old to new on the tranny, there are plenty of messages on down the link on the subject. put the O/D in the first time, then you won't have to mess with it later.

I'm assuming you have done all the changes you needed to do to the engine. Back plate, flywheel, and starter. You will have to do some altering to the tunnel as the shifter comes out farther back. As far as building the OD unit. you had better do your home work before you crack that sucker. I know some mechanics that want take on that job. There are a lot of tricks to do it right.
