In the never ending pursuit make make my 77 B run cooler, I have sent the radiator to the shop. Upon gazing at the empty cavity, I notice that one of my fans "pushes" and the other "pulls". Is this the ways they're supposed to work, or should they both push toward the engine? #!$^&%$#^$!!

I don't think it's the way they're supposed to work, but every darn one I've ever owned has done that!!!! I usually just "modify" the plastic connector on the way going backwards and that makes it run in reverse.

They both should push. Having one pulls just draws hot air back over the radiator.

Now, are you actually seeing them turn and feeling them blow? I've never done it, but maybe turning the blades around might help?????

Well, isn't that special! Are the fan blades on backwards, or is the motor turning the wrong direction?

Ya see, that's what I can't figure out! Both blades have arrows on them indicating that they should turn counter-clockwise, (as they face the engine). The one on the right turns as such. The left hand motor turns clockwise, so the kind of turn TOWARD each other. Steve's idea of just reversing the wires on the left hand unit is what I considered first. Do we all agree? (Thanks).

go for it, I checked and both of the fans on Ol Rusty run the same way

if they are supposed to counter clock, then reverse the wires on the offending fan.

My fan sucks. I removed the two stock pushers and installed a 14" puller behind the radiator, but recommend fo more than a 12" as I had a problem fitting up that big one I have. Looks fine , works great, gut it was touch & go at first because it gets into the front anti-roll bar before fitting in the space between the tanks.

If your blades are on right the wiring is wrong on the puller fan, they shoud both push.

Definitely reverse the wiring....reversing the blade will not change the direction of airflow....think about it. Only revesing direction of rotation changes flow.
