Number of hood stays?

I have a '61 bugeye sprite. It has one hood stay (the latching rod that holds the bonnet up) on the drivers side (left) and the auxilliary stay that mounts by the radiator on the passanger side. The moss motors web site says two stays are required. Should there be two stays and the auxilliary stay?

There is a 3rd stay rod that goes across the radiator and hooks into a hole on the hood in the shroud area, its really a saftey..I have had about 20 Bugeyes and just seen 2 or 3 of these, the two side ones are enough

Thanks for the info, I have the left one and the radiator stay.

Anyone have one for sale? I see that moss motors has them.
