RJ there is already enough on the table of substance. Don't get involved with the Obama Bashers...it clouds the target of what should be reasonable concerns....IMHO

I agree 100% Robert. There are plenty of legitimate issues without taking a detour through fantasy land.

Let's debate health care, property rights, welfare, TARP, earmarks and Iraq. Why waste time on pretend issues that lead nowhere?

In all fairness rj, its easy to get sucked into these ruses. There appear to be A LOT of Obie haters or detracters and many many more just taking short breathes hoping for the best.....
But as Jay suggests, don't get distracted as there is already enough REAL stuff to be of concern...at least for we who are concerned....

But lets be clear that this is not a program paid for by some business to help anyone as a service. This is a fee we all pay on our phone bill to pay for someone elses phone. That is why it is not allowed in all States. It is a hidden tax. Also when you call up Safe links they clearly advertise this as a Government supported program. So my bet is that the Government is giving the company a dollar for dollar match of money raised by charging us.

May be a good a valid program but it is a government subsidy to the poor from someone else's money.

Heck we might find that it is now a govenment program in the health care bill 1900 pages. Obama has been pretty clear he does not support unfettered private charity and believes the Government should be the leader of all aid.

Interesting; I've always wondered about that "Universal Service" line item on my phone bill. So it IS a federal tax on businesses and often charged back to consumers, but it is NOT Obama administration related.
