I've got a student working for me that has a Ford Tarus making a squeeking noise when he turns the wheel. Sounds like it is coming from one tie rod end. He just had a shop replace it and a few weeks later it's making the same noise. Greasing made it go away for a couple of weeks but now does no good. Ya'll ever heard tie rods squeek? The shop that replaced it just says live with the noise. Sounds like rubber rubbing rubber, but I cannot find anything. Ideas?

Try shooting some kind of rucus juice up around the tops of the struts. That's about the only other place that can make noise. Noise in that area can telegraph all over the place.

Well Ford did have a 'better idea'!! They did imbed their tie rod ends in rubber for a few years. Expected lifespan was about 30,000 km's!! Becuse you said greasing made it go away, it was probably replaced with a proper one, like a Moog! I am seriously wondering if maybe you should be looking at the CV Joint!! I would bet that is the 'squeaking'!!

Moog is good stuff, but not the top gun by any means any more. Borg Warner has the best stuff and latest technology going rignt now.
