I changed the oil on the 79 B and I got a little too much in there...Looks like maybe a half quart over..Should I drain that out or drive it?

I'd drain it off. Half a quart might cause a leak somewhere. But I may be over-cautious.

I'd leave it alone if it is really just a half quart over.

Half a US quart will do no harm whatsoever, don't worry about it.

When engine is running you probably have at least a pint in circulation
in the system... dont worry about 1/2 qt..
