I have several questions relating to the rear shocks.
1. how high do you fill the shock absorbers with hydraulic oil?
2. can I use the same hydraulic oil as I use in my brake system?
3.when installing new shock links can I use the same type of grease on the tappered end of the link as I use to grease the car?

1) to the top, not overflowing
2) use motorcycle fork oil if you want, I use motor oil
3) no grease needed

Re 2 - What weight motor oil? How about hydraulic jack oil?.. thought I'd read some use that as well here.

You can use jack oil as it is designed to be used in high pressure applications. Armstrong, the original manufacturer of the shocks, is still in business and sells fluid that is designed for the shocks. Fork oil will also do in a pinch. Do not overfill! This will cause the oil to leak out around the shafts. Fill the shock to the top, but do not cover the threads of the plug with fluid. RAY
