I want to replace the oil lines that goes from block to the oil guage. I have the replacements. I know there is the small gasket that goes between the copper line and guage. I would like to know if I am supposed to use anything between the block and flex line and the coupler to the copper line? Also Do I just hand bend the copper line?
Thanks for the help

Their isn't anything in between those fittings. Be careful not to kink the copper line when you are forming to shape.

I don't recall there being any gasket on my oil lines. Bending by hand is easy, but like Swamper said, just be gentle or you might kink the line.

Yeah....they list a leather gasket tween the guage and the copper line at the fitting... but in 30 years of working on/playing with these cars??? I've never used nor replaced one.... and as of yet?? (including the dual guage I just installed in my 71 GT?) I have never had one leak... nary a drop.........

Ditto what Mike has said. Mostly, it is more a matter of clean joints before tightening than needing any gasket. CLEAN means both getting rid of dirt and crud, AND making sure the actual seating surfaces have no nicks or dings in them.
