Do you mean how is the line attached to the gauge? It's a compression fitting...
So I shrank myself to 2 inches tall, and climbed under the dash. What i see is the plastic pipe entering the OP gauge via a brass extension thats about an inch give or take. When you said compression, I was looking for a plumbing type compression fiting that has a thru nut pressing a ferule. Is there any way to tighten this connection? I have a very well lubricated steering column at this point, and I fear the thing will come out and lube me and the floorboards.
Repaired same problem today, my tube is copper though. Autozone sells an oil pressure gauge kit...basically all you need is the ferule....not sure if Lowes or another hardware store sells one this small, but loosen the nut and slide back down the tube...cut the tube behind the furle...slide on new ferule... push tube into oil pressure unit and hold it there until nut is tightend.
mine is a compression fitting as well. I put a small wrench on it, tighten it up, and that's that. I got my gauge rebuilt from Nisonger, and has the correct fittings and everything on it ready to go.
