I use the Quick Clear all the time. Never had a reported failure.
I painted my TR8 engine with the single stage. Had a carb leak and it lifted the paint on the manifold. I prefer DCC Concept for single stage because I like the way it handles better. Don't have any durability comparison to make.
Don't know what you are painting but implement paint at a farm supply store is mighty good and mighty cheap. FWIW. Keep in mind it is being used on both low end and high end agri "vehicles"....
I have used Omni single stage urethane. It is a budget paint. It works good if it is out of the sun. I shot my truck with it about 2 years ago (black) and it has already faded bad on the top.
I have used it in engine bays and it holds up really well out of the sun. Cant speak for any Omni clears.
I've painted several motorcycles with the Omni single stage urethane and covered it with the Omni quick clear. It is real durable and fade resistant when clear coated. I have heard from others that the paint is fade prone and scratches easily. The clear coat seems to take care of that problem.
I also painted a ford winstar bumper white with the omni single stage urethane about 4 years ago and did not clear coat. It looks good still.
It's cheap, and it's all that I use. Here's a 1953 BMW fender in Mercedes Black Omni 1 stage urethane panel repair paint and the quick clear coat just applied.
My second restoration was shot with Omni AU. It sold to a fellow in GA who never complained about any fading issues. The paint is very forgiving in the application, so a novice can do well with it. It is a cheap paint, not to be confused with poor quality
FWIW, I posted this many times before but thought I'd mention again. The Omni Epoxy Primer and hardener is identical to the PPG label stuff. I got that straight from a PPG rep years ago. But the Omni doesn't come in as many colors. For example, last winter I fixed a Cobalt that got a new trunk floor. To match the gray/green factory primer I had to buy the PPG label stuff. For regular refinishing the Omni Epoxy is what I use. Mostly gray. The black makes a good flat/satin finish black.
I got a washer & drier made by Whirlpool but has Estate or something for it's name. Much cheaper than the name brand but my clothes still get clean. ;)
x2 Jim....probably made by the same folks. Paint makers often have several brands and even more generics. That's why I suggest brand X at the farm supply. Farmers ARE very conservative and demand the most for their $. FWIW
I've used both base/clear omni and single stage. The silver '68 is base/clear and it's very durable. The paint is almost seven years old.
I have used it for years with good luck. I don't anymore but I just go a little more expensive now. The Omni was a good product.
Omni is a value line PPG product, Decent paint, holds up well. It does have different pigments and difficult to match and blend if you are just painting a single panel. Not an issue if you are doing a complete.

My Harvest Gold B was painted two years ago with Omni. It was a color under clear but I'm not sure what type(s) the shop used. Car is garaged inside, not out that often, it has held up well.
