Last Sat, took the daughter out in the GT. Looking forward too it myself for it had not never been out like this since we have it over a year ago for in repair. Was on the highway for about 7 mins, testing the OD ect, new minilites good. Was driving it and showing her the choke ect. Overdrive. Was tooling around pretty good, until we came to a stop and it died, fuel pump (Napa), was ticking away, lots of fuel in tank, looked at the see through fuel filter under the hood, no gas??? WONDERFUL! So with hazards on, and after 5 mins, I try the key again, and wha la, gas is pumping again, and I turn it around and ended the lesson.
I'm thinking a clogged vent line? I must say, it was dismaying for it has been one thing after another. I don't think this is a serious issue so not giving up yet.
any input as towards a plan of action, which hose is the vent under the hood at the charcoal canister? ect
Thanks
BJ

You might want to grab a fuel sample to check for contaminant. Just looking through a clear or translucent filter won't show much. Pull a hose and pump some in a clean container. Be carefull, it's flamable (my disclaimer)

Kinda wondering here. 70GT?

Isn't there a vented cap on the fuel tank? That is how the car would act if it were plugged.

If it happens again, take the gas cap off. If the vent is bad, the system will vent through the gas filler neck and re-start quickly. Then you know what to fix :)

Good idea about the fuel cap!!, for it is a older locking one from France of all places. I took off the nice MG one for I'm sure someone at a high school parking lot would snatch it. I will inspect the old French one. Anyone know of a nice looking newer type venting cap that does not cost allot?

If your old one isn't venting, I would think you could just cut a little notch out of the gasket so it will vent.
