We pretty much never fly commercial. Judy and I are looking to go to Jekyl Island in Feb and I am a bit uncomfortable cruising the various sites. What are the easier to use sites? Trying to go non stop from Portland (PWM) or Manchester or 'maybe' Boston to Jax, Savannah, or Brunswick.

I usually use the airline's online site months in advance, or when a special is running to get the best price. I'm guessing that you'll get your best rates out of Boston as it is a larger market.

I've always ended up using Orbitz. They always at least matched any deal I found anywhere else and the site is real easy to use. Play with it a while, use different departure and return dates to see the different rates. Monday is one of the most expensive flight days on any air line, Friday is another and the popular travel days on either end of any holiday times. I usually have my tickets a month in advance but prices don't start going up until a week to 10 days before a flight.

And, I've used Priceline with good results. Often, though, the airline will have equal values on their site but you'll have to visit them all to compare apples to apples.

Booked my tickets for next week's trip to Vegas on "CheapTickets.com". Orbitz is also good...as is Expedia and Priceline.

Orbitz, PriceLine, Expedia are all the best in my opinion!

I use STATravel.com because I'm still a student, but have also used the above ones!

Carl,
Try this site. They are like a search engine to other flight booking sites (expedia, orbitz..etc) and they also show the price each day of the calender month so if your schedule is flexible, you may advance/delay your trip a few days to save some money
