I was about to respond to the Charlotte info request with the advice to check out Richard's Auto Salvage on Hwy 49 in Denton. I went to their webpage to find some interesting verbage and discovered that they are closing down and crushing everything in sight. If you're working on an old American car and need something, get it now or it looks like it'll end up as scrap.

I used to buy a little from them when I had my '48 Ford but haven't had dealings with them in years. Makes me sad though to think that that much history and that many no-longer-made parts are going to be destroyed.... :-(

Man I hate that, I need a bunch of old Chrysler/Desoto stuff
A lazy auto salvage guy here in Nanaimo crushed 6 MGBs.
I arrived just as the last 1971 was getting ready to go to the crusher.
He told me to take what I wanted as I had 15 minutes. There was a complete engine that turned over, both seat belt sets that were complete with even the little hanger clips. This car had many good parts that they were too lazy to remove and sell.
It was a crime, too bad he will not do the jail time he deserves. He got $25 a car from the crusher.
He still gets MGBs and has 3 more now.
I have offered to come out to his yard when he is ready to crush again and give him $25 per car for any parts that I can salvage.
He can still get his $$ from the crusher for what remains.
Just offer him $26.00 for the entire car and save the cost of crushing.
