This car has been on this jack in a driveway for about a month now. It is quite near the highway with several houses in the area. Just can't believe anyone would leave a car that way!

Looks like a candidate for 'Ran When Parked' in Classic Motorsports Magazine!
"For Sale: BMW 2002, good shape, $1.00. 4th tire - $2,000.00"
Dan D
That makes me want to cry. My first car was a '76 and I always lusted for a round light model.... :(
It has a for sale sign on it. Maybe it was stored inside but he wanted to advertise it. By removing the tire meybe he thought no one would take it while being advertised for sale. Actually, I wonder if he gave any thought to anyone taking the jack?
A few years back the hubby and I saw a car at a home near Danville, Va sitting on four of those big white buckets that you see at new home construction sites. The wheels were off and the car was just sitting on plastic. Can you imagine crawling under that to work on one!
I wish we would have had a camera that day :)
The car appears to be in pretty good shape although I have not stopped to inquire about it. It is an automatic though. If anybody is interested in the car, PM me with contact info and I will try to contact the seller or provide the contact number. He occasionally has other has BMWs for sale at his house - usually 300 series. BTW - the car is in the Rochester NY area.
I wonder if he has given any thought to some curious kid getting killed under it? Long shot, I know, but pretty careless. Aside from my love of cars, the other lasting thing my Dad taught me was zealous care with any car on a jack.
The owner, no doubt, is still awaiting the arrival of his parts from Germany! Or maybe he is trying to get a loan to pay for them. I, too, have always liked the round taillight BMWs. AL Bradley
I see the fourth wheel on the ground to the right. Kind of a strange way to leave a car, isn't it? Someone ought to make him an offer and get it out of there. Is he trying to "stretch" the rear springs . . . ? Very odd.
Must be a pretty good neighborhood since the jack, the tire and, for that matter, the CAR are still there! Not many places in Memphis you could get away with that....
I cant see clearly enough
2002 or 1600? I Damn near bought a 1600 w/dual webers/etc in '67.
When we were building the house 15 years ago, the wife noticed the contractor leaving small hand tools - nothing expensive - on the site overnite. When she asked if he wasn't afraid anyone would steal them, the man laughed and said, "Nobody's going to bother these things - that's work." Besides, unlike some of the power tools, they had no pawn shop value.
