just making sure. i did not have any "large" shims between the main casing and overdrive adapter when i took my transmission apart. i believe od transmissions use smaller ones between the distance piece and rear bearing. am i right? i didn't take the bearing off of the output shaft so i have no idea if there's anything in there.

If I understand you correctly, there are no shims under the 3rd motion shaft bearing carrier. There are shims on the OD side though.
