I am putting an early Od in a '63 project. I bought the harness from Moss which comes in two sections, one is labeled front, the other just has a part number. I see how some of the wiring goes, I have a couple of wiring diagrams, one for each eye I think.
My questions: 1. Where does the relay box mount? Clausenger has a right drive model with it on the left firewall near the heater box. If you know how the wires run, and how to conect them I am all ears. Mine is LH drive.
2. I have the dash manual switch and yellow and white wires for it already in the harness. Where, physically is the "throttle switch". I think I see the overdrive solenoid and trans interlock switch on the transmission.
3. The harness which I think is for on the transmission has a green and green brown wire, I don't appreciate them on the wiring schematic.
Moss gave no instructions but referred me to Rick Astley's book, which I do have.

Rodger, are you wiring up real live vacuum switch and relay? If you don't have those bits, you can just hook it up like a later od harness and leave out that whole part of the kit.
Thanks Chris, I couldn't find that vacuum switch, in real life, just on the wiring chart. I had searched the archives and found nothing, but when I ran the search again this afternoon I found several good threads.
I have the relay, should I not use it if I don't have the vacuum switch? Is it like headlights relays and designed to decrease current through the switch? Electrical work is the weakest link in my generally feeble mechanical arsenal. At least I was smart enough to just stay home from Gary's Run and get some work done.
Well, I am back and getting work done. This area is not a strong suit of mine, but I have just ignored all that relay and vacuum switch stuff on the advice of board members and ended up having what would compare to a late model diagram. It worked very well!
To do that, just hook up the o/d switch system and ignore the rest.
Good luck!
