MGB: Paint Color Formula Search for Grampian Grey

Seeking help to try and locate a paint formula for the "Grampian Grey" color used in the late sixties on MGB GT models.
All the references I have found in various publications, etc, cannot be cross referenced by local paint suppliers I have contacted........they get a reference number but no actual paint formula in the various products they sell. Unfortunately I do not have anyone close to me with this actual color on their vehicle to try and get a color match.
I have agonized over selecting a paint color for my resto project and now that I have a color choice I have this setback. Just wanted to get some color started on the car before I change my mind again.
Any help greatly appreciated!!!!!

Saffyres...the reference to the web page I have already located, As noted the reference numbers given for the various paint manufacturers cannot be cross referenced to an actual paint formula.....the numbers are not much good by themselves. Not sure if this is a problem unique to my area or what.
The link for the touch-up paint source is helpful in that at least I can get a sample to view and hopefully color match via the in-store scanner. It's at least a start.
Thanks!

You can buy by the quart there too - and probably by the gallon if you call them. Looks like it's premixed with thinner & whatever that other stuff is we added to our "bulk" paint last year...

Okay, go to this Dupont site: http://www.dupontrefinish.com/portal/

And search by manufacture ROVER and colour name and you'll find Grampain Grey. The Dupont Stock number is CF434, and the ROVER code is GR12. This site does give the tint code as well.

Tint Tint name Cum. weight (g) absolute weight (g)

AM84 RED OXIDE L.S. 77.6 77.6
AM6 BLACK H.S. 134.4 56.7
AM1 WHITE H.S. 185.0 50.6
AM29 LIGHT BLUE 193.8 8.8
AD140 BINDER 623.2 429.5
AD144 BINDER 979.0 355.8

Thanks Mark.......I know little to nothing about paint but feel like I am making progress. Now I can at least cross reference the sample I ordered from Automotivetouchup against the formula from the Dupont site and verify all is well with the world.
I am constantly amazed at the level of knowledge and resources available via this board; I am been researching this on my own for awhile now without much success; primarily due to lack of specific knowledge regarding some issues/products/items, etc.
Thanks again all!!!!!
The world can now return to it's regularly scheduled programming and hopefully without reruns!

Hi scott, I hope I have been of help. I have found that Dupont is pretty much the only one that published their colour codes and it fairly easy to cross-reference to the origainl code through their site.

Using the Dupont code and/or the Manufacture's code should allow you to find the right paint from any paint manufacture. I'm paint my Spitfire the original Vermillion using BASF paint and it actually took the original Leyland code, CAE to find the correct BASF code.
