Right now there is a timing cover for an MGA MKII on EBay that is going for $149.00 with 3 bids and 3 days yet to go. I was looking for a timing cover for my Magnette, that's how I ran across that one.
I ended up putting an MGB timing cover on mine for 20 bucks.
I am really curious how this timing cover auction is going to end up. I have the exact cover on my Farina Magnette. That is worth more than the whole car!

If anyone is interested I have a Magnette spare tire clamp for sale. I will sandblast and prime it before mailing for $25.00us+postage
If one of our members is selling the E-bay stuff let me know and I will pull my parts until your auction is over.
Cheers,
Rich
Caveat Emptor!
Hahahahahahahaha!
All it takes is a a big set of cajones and creative descriptions!
One of the favorites seems to be "ultra rare."
Hi All,
It´s been ridiculous how some merchants use the Ebay site to offer parts above the benchmark price, in many cases they ask more than twice the price from Moss or other suppliers. If you are a potential Ebay customer check prices first before to make a bid or a purchase.!!!
Speaking of parts for sale, I have some Magnette parts some of you may be interested in. I will post on the trader site but you can see it here first. Varitone bonnet in fair condition. Needs sand blasting etc. call me if interested. I have a spare door, MGA/Magnette tranny, assorted parts like a grill that would be ok for some one waiting for there original to come back from being chromed. MGA steel wheels etc. Call me and I will check on your request and we can talk about a fair price. 215-802-1974.

The timing chain cover on auction I mentioned earlier is up to $203.50 with 2 days to go. Now that's just crazy.
When prices get that crazy I'd be suspicious there's a couple of shlls bidding it up in an attempt to lure the unsuspecting and over anxious in. it's easy for one to loose one's rational thought in an auction. There are no lack of MG B-series engine timing covers in the world to support that kind of price!
I agree. But I have to admit, this cover is a bit different. On this one the seal is mounted from the outside rather than the inside. From what I understand, that was only made for the MGA MKII.
But honestly once the pulley is in place, who would know?!?

the guy who buys it off ebay...... and absolutely everyone he can tell that it has the "ultra-rare" timing cover...
!!! That timing cover went for $271.00 !!!
Geez. Who would think MG parts are selling for that much right now? I guess it's time to start unloading some Twin Cam parts...
I think I have one of those timing covers in storage... I guess now would be the time to dig it out!
You may be too late Ed.
From my experience on E-bay, if one item sells for an outrageous price the next one will
probably go for a song. At least that's usually the way it works when I am the second seller. :(
