Ron Horton and I slipped over to the church parking lot before any of the flatlanders got there this AM. It was pretty cool to see such a long line of nifty LBCs roll up.

Besides the expected beautiful Bs and As there was a Porsche 356SC, a Lotus 7 clone, an swoopy new Lotus in really dark green, an old S Type Jag sedan, several Morgans and the darndest thing I ever saw. About 30 cars in all, not including our Bs.

As Ron and I were reviewing the troops he said "What in the heck is that?" and I responded with "A 124 FIAT silly!" Na, he said. Look at the hood again. I did and there for God and every body to see was the neatest MG emblem set ever so carefully on the nose of the red Italian! Well, true to form in the best MG tradition, when I good naturedly questioned the owner about it he responded with a light hearted remark and a hearty laugh.

To paraphrase George Patton..."God forgive me, but I do SO love these cars and their drivers!"

Ron took lots of pictures and said that he was going to post them here, but he did have to go home to house guests, four rambunctious cocker spaniels and a three year old visiting niece who is just full of herself. I told him to drive straight into the garage, pull the door down, crack a beer and do a good rear brake adjustment. Maybe he did, and maybe he cracked more than one. LOL

to subvert your topic, I took a ride today out along the Sacramento (CA) river towards Sacramento with the aim of visting some wineries in the Clarrksburg region (alongside the river, south of Sacto about 15 miles)...notably Boglewinery.com.

Encountered for the first time a bunch of other lbcs, including a Big Healey, DB5S and a DB3S (I think) (at the winery) as well as a long string, lead by a pair of Model Ts, but populated mostly by Ferraris, as well a a bunch of other old Detrit Iron from Lincoln to Chevy.

At one drawbridge (all brindeges across the Sacramento here are draw bridges) I encounted a 58 Vete in distress. A wheel had worked itself loose and they had no lug wrench. Lucky me and a 16" star wrench in the boot. Everybody was happy. Especially when i suggested they check the other three...and all were loose! Turns out there was a car show tour put on by a Sacto BMW dealer.

And yes, when i waved, ALL the Ferraris waved back!

Gosh, Jack,
By the time we arrived (2p or so) the only LBC's in the Rumple lot were a Boxster, a Miata and a Z4.... LOL
