Took me three nights, but finally got the windscreen refitted and the quarterlights lined up as well as possible (to hopefully avoid the COD!). Door locks etc & side trims also now fitted since the photo below was taken - Popriveting onto the new paint job was certainly cringe inducing! but succesful. Have also glued a 4"x6" piece of steel sheet onto the inside of each door skin to help spread the load of the door mirrors and to cover the area prone to COD.
Headlights and front indicators next.
Martin.

Looking good! I had heard that the COD was aggravated by folks closing the doors by holding onto the quarter lights.
Dumb person question here - is COD the infamous "crack of death" I've heard about?
Congrats by the way :) it looks great.
I understand the cringe syndrome. Went through the same thing and it was even worse when I got to drilling and riveting the snaps for the side trim.
Looking pretty nice. Was wondering how tight the rubber seals at the base of the pillar are. Mine barely contact the fenders so I'm not confident of a good weather tight seal.
CoD == Crack of DOOM or Crack of Death...... either way... just remember what they teach our kids at school....... CRACK kills..........lol

Martin,
If you are putting a new interior in give all the plywood interior pannels a couple of coats of marine varnish ,cover the staples. Really helps in a damp climate.

One fits reasonably tightly, but the other does not. I think i'll go for additional sealant in due course - plenty of rain in GB!

what type of glue did you use?

To be honest it was a left over tube of seam sealer - seems to have done the trick - the doors had already been painted, so welding wasn't an option.

Luckily the Autumn Leaf original trim is in good condition and will be refitted, but I will look to treat them further.
By the way, the front wheels were scrap ones for the respray - see the rear ones for the final effect.
