One step closer to assembling the car! Powder coating came back and looks really good. It's so nice to be able to handle parts and not have to wash my hands after! The powder coating was done at Afterburner Performance Coatings in Bradford Ontario. Parts out to be plated should be back soon and new tubes for fuel and brakes will be ready soon as well. No more excuses, I have to get working on this thing so it will be read for the summer.

That really looks great. May I ask how much it set you back?
What a cool idea; never occurred to me to do the air cleaners etc like that thanks Ryan looking good!
Holy crap! That looks nice. Scrambling to wikipedia to learn more about powder coating...
Ryan, Looking real good....I'm not sure whether it's $500.00USD worth of "good"...But, never the less, very nice.
Tony,
$500CAD for me was worth the amount of time to clean the parts properly to be ready to paint myself if I wanted to. The parts were dropped off somewhat clean, but still rusty with some undercoating and oil on them in places, came back like new in 1 week. A huge time saver for me. I guess it all depends what you're willing to pay to save time. $500 I can live with. $1,000, then I'd have to start scraping the parts myself and get some POR-15. That being said, even the inside of the suspension crossmember looks brand new, I'd never be able to get it that nice myself.
Ryan,
Whats important is if you feel it was worth it. They did do a great job. And powder coat is much more durable then regular paint. That cross-member is also as bulky as it is heavy, so, all in all, $500 Canadian was probably a reasonable rate.
looks sweet. FWIW eastwood products sells a home powder coating kit that works well..i had one years ago and did several pieces on my harley. wish i still had it but lost it in the divorce.....lol...go figure..below is a link to the one i had and they have a great color selection of powder

After blasting some of my parts one at a time and trying to paint them when I had the time, I took all mine to a powder coating guy. Best investment I made. And he also did a ceramic coating on my exhaust manifold, inside and out. If you have your car apart, it's the ONLY way to go.
