Due to decreased sales volume and an increase in the cost of doing business, I am going to cut the discount by 5% starting Jan. 1.
December has always been slow, and it would be a yucky time to hike prices, like any time is a good time.
I have put this off for a long time hoping things would turn around, but they haven't. Sorry.

well, makes sense to me. Good luck and here's hoping it does turn around.
Chris, you wouldnt happen to have an early type fuel sending unit SEAL around would you?
The one with 8 holes in it for the seal ring.
I need the dimensions and will order from you.

Well, it is kind of self serving, but it also allows for people to adjust and not get caught out.
I've often wondered how much time you put in for what I would guess to be a very narrow margin. No problems Chris and I'll still be doing business with you...at least when my wife lets me spend. I'm still on a tight leash after a 3000 dollar MG budget overrun.....
Thanks. Try explaining to her that the uptick on collector cars is 5 times what bank interest is. Hence, your investment in parts will parley nicely in the future if you decide to sell.
Is that real? Maybe. Probably not. But, you will only get called on it if you sell, at which time you can come up with the market correction story.
The parts business is dog eat dog, and has been since the early 80's. Most of the Mom and Pop shops can't exist unless they have a loyal customer base and low prices, and then most times that does not help them from the automotive chain shores and bigger distributors of the lure for them to get in on the retail end where they make more $.

Chris, best of luck to you - as a businessman I hate to see these variables combined. Volume down, costs up, prices up is not a good combination in a flawed economy. I won't go political here, but am getting darn tired of what is going on in this country. When it hits guys like you it hurts everybody.
I still have my "customer loyalty" discount in place at Moss, but will check prices - new iron head, rockers, etc. - after the first of the year.
Good luck to you - and thanks for all your help around here!
well, reduced discount or not, I'll still buy ALL my MG stuff from you buddy.... must be your wonderful personality and shiny customer service.... oh yeah, and those really cool sneakers.... :bouncing:
Chris, I like the avatar of your MGB at the Maryhill Stonehenge replica.
Chris,
Thanks for being such a gentlemen to give us all a "heads up" with advance notice on your increase. Few would be so forthright. Like Travis said, you've had a very thin margin. Your service has always been top notch.
Tim
A sign in a local plumbing shop has a picture of a bum sitting on the curb picking a cigar butt out of the gutter and it says"When I was in business I always worked the cheapest"
If removing part of a discount is what it takes to keep going then I applaud Your move in that direction.
Rather have you increase your prices a bit and stay in the game than have you keep them where they were and disappear!
