A friend of mine has a primrose colored 1960's MGB that HE claims was in a movie with Elizabeth Taylor! I have seen it, but it needs restored... he says it is worth a lot of money. I asked about documentation, and I honestly can't remember the response... anyone know about such a movie? I've been all over the internet and can't find anything! It is in storage, and I told him he should put it up for bids! I'd buy it if the price was right and had proof that it was indeed a "movie car"!

Always insist on documentation!
I was able to pick up the actually axe that George Washington used to chop down the famous Cherry Tree. It came with all the paperwork from even from when the Head was replaced in 1873 and the handle was replaced in 1823 and 1918.
Remember: It's worthless without the proper paperwork.
Words to live by

I agree with Charles. Words are just words without proof.
Same as someone telling you the engine is rebuilt....not worth much unless photos and/or receipts are included.
There are 14 pages of MGB's on imcdb.org (movie cars database).
Perhaps you wil find it there.

Spent some time on there just yesterday, fun site.
Even if you do find a primrose yellow B in a movie with The Liz, how to know it's your friend's car?
Slippery slope it is.

Today, you would receive a receipt from the production company verifying their use of your car, the amount paid to rent it, and perhaps a couple of still photos shot on set with the actors in or near the car.
Back then, who knows. Best you could do is get a detailed letter from the owner at the time specifying dates, locations, and interesting details of the story. That kind of thing tends to hold up over time, given the lack of real "documentation".
Seems I remember her in a Sunbeam Alpine in Buttterfield 8, but. . . :S
Cheers,
Rick
