Trying to remove my pulley wheel (69 GT), any tips please?
Does it turn clockwise to remove?

Guess you're referring to the harmonic balancer at the front of the engine? If so, yes, anticlockwise to loosen. You may find it difficult to loosen it because the engine will rotate. Two methods will work - 1) secure an appropriate wrench on the nut, brace the wrench handle against a solid structure in the engine bay, then bump the starter. 2) Use an impact wrench.

One more suggestion to add to James'. Remove the spark plug for the first cylinder and feed some rope into the cylinder. Rotate motor until the motor locks up. The use the appropriate wrench to loosen the bolt.

Make sure you bend the lock tap back, Try a impact wrench first if that doesn't work get a long pipe and put it on the end of a power bar don't use a rachet.
Apply pressure on the end of the pipe then give it a couple of good hard wacks with a BFH down low near the socket.

It may let go with a "crack" so be prepared.

Good luck
