Nesting the 73MGB today for the winter. Where are the best points to place jacks for the winter?

Try this link...pictures are worth thousands of words! As an alternative, place the rear stands under the axle, as far outboard as possible for lateral stability. Watch so you don't crush any lines...

Honestly, I put the rear on the axle, as far out as possible as stated. The front, I put under the rails right behind the front wheels. I supposed, if I were putting it on blocks for the winter, I'd put the front under the spring pan to keep the suspension with weight on it (why, I don't know for sure). Others may eventually chime in and tell me I don't know what I'm talking about and I'll learn from those more wise than me.
I'd want the front suspension compressed during storage, definitely.

I had read this somewhere a long time ago but can't remember why. Any particular reason?

My understanding of this is so that the shocks stay compressed. if you un-weight the suspension parts of the shocks are extended and exposed, and if they corrode and become pitted, the possibility of ruining seals increases with friction on the pitted parts . I am not positive, but thats what I recall.

Makes sense. IIRC, it was something about the rubber bits getting deformed, or something along the lines of the rubber bits in the suspension. I remeber reading this like 25+ years ago, though and things have gotten fuzzy since then. ;)
Ummmm.... Just asking, but how long a winter nap are you expecting? If the car's only going to be sitting for 90 or 120 days, why not just park it? It takes a lot longer than that to cause problems like flat spots on the tires or the like. In the Spring, just start it and go.

That is a good point.
I have stored my 75 every winter since about 83, and never on blocks. Just change the oil (old oil becomes acidic), fill the tank (to stop condensation) add fuel stabilizer (to stop varnishes from forming in the gasoline) and shut it off. In the spring start it up and take it for a nice drive. Typically I store it for about 4 months (Dec to March-April) At one time I fogged the engine and wrap the carb with plastic, but I am not sure that actually helped.
So what do you guys do over winter when snowed in?
The mind boggles.

You should be asking are women
Hmm, I don't recall seeing cars in museums up on blocks. And in my city if your car is outside on blocks, you better be working on it! It's the LAW!
My TA sat for about 8 years in the corner of the garage.
When I pulled it out the tyres were soft but not flatted and it rolled well. I blew the tyres up, got it started and drove it.
